We start with an assessment of reading, writing and arithmetic. We teach the difficult skills directly, not around them. We practise regularly, at the child’s own pace, and we work with the school when that is needed.
We strengthen the foundations of learning at your child's level.
We work with children who mix up letters, read slowly, or misspell words despite knowing the spelling rules. We train visual-auditory perception and reading technique, in session and at home. A counselling centre makes the diagnosis; if a vision problem is possible, we refer to an ophthalmologist.
We help children who mix up digits such as 6 and 9, or struggle with mental arithmetic and the idea of time or money. We use concrete objects and visual schemes, teaching counting strategies instead of rote repetition. A counselling centre diagnoses dyscalculia; we do not diagnose it ourselves.
We support children who struggle to hold attention in class, lose track of instructions, or forget something said moments earlier. We train working memory and attention in short steps. If hearing loss may be behind it we refer to an audiologist, and lasting attention issues go to a psychologist.
We work with children who lose motivation after a string of setbacks and avoid reading or counting aloud. We match tasks to the child's level and praise effort, not only the result. If low motivation comes with anxiety, we refer to a psychologist or a counselling centre.
